What Should I Avoid in My Answers?

1. Don’t add or expand questions.

If you want to clarify or improve a question, edit it or leave a comment instead of posting a new answer.

2. Don’t use answers to comment on other answers.

If you’d like to respond to someone else’s answer, add a comment below theirs rather than posting a separate answer.

3. Don’t post answers that only point to other questions.

If you think a question has already been answered elsewhere, leave a comment such as “Possible duplicate of…”.

It’s fine to include links in your answer, but only if they add helpful context or supporting information.

4. Don’t post link-only answers.

If you’re linking to a resource or external solution, include a summary or key points from that resource in your answer.

Links are welcome, but your answer should still make sense on its own.

5. Don’t start debates.

This is a Q&A community, not a discussion forum. Avoid debating or expressing opinions in answers — it distracts from clear, factual solutions.

For short discussions, use the commenting feature instead.

Earning Karma Points

When a question or answer is upvoted, the author earns karma points, which reflect the community’s trust in that user.
